SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!

School officially ended Friday, May 27th.  It was bittersweet.  I felt like I didn't get to properly tell all my students how special they were and how much each of them meant to me.  I didn't get to hug them long enough.  Shoot, I forgot to send part of one kid's report card home even!  The bell rang and I just stood there.  I was reminded of the feeling I had after my wedding.  All that planning and BAM!  It's over.  Anyhoo, I got over that feeling real quick and have settled nicely to the life of summer!

Here's a glimpse into our summer so far:

Our good pals Mike and Jess visited from D.C.  Jess is my college roomie and Mike is an old H.S. pal.  They ended up dating and leaving me.  Jess just graduated from law school at Georgetown.  We are so proud of her!  I'm sure you noticed from the picture above that Max wasn't all for sitting and chatting.  Here are a few pics from our rather active visit with Mike and Jess:

As you can see, Max was in heaven while visiting with our friends!  (Besides Mr. Mike Nelson giving him his first taste of horseradish~  ewwwwwww)  Max's favorite was jumping on the trampoline.  He calls it a "boing".  I can tell we're going to have to save for one of those in the future!

On to our next adventure...

Last year we joined the neighborhood swimming pool.  Max was under a year at the time but we still found it to be a great investment.  Here's a snapshot of him on one of his first visits last year:

Here are a few more shots of our fun day at the pool.  Well, let me re-phrase that...it was fun AFTER Max figured out that "swing swing" and "swim swim" are two different things.  I told him we were going swim swim.  He thought we were going to go outback to swing and was DISTRAUGHT that we were going to the car instead.  He figured it out fast and enjoyed his time splashing around.  Enjoy!
