I originally started this blog to document my experiences as a mother. As you can see, I haven't posted a new entry since late August. No one told me that working full time with two kids would erase any free time energy I may have to get our memories published-- Or the laundry done for that matter!
Anyhoo- Here's how my "Mudder's Day" (as Max calls it) went...
It all started the night before Mother's Day...When all through the house. Not a kiddo was stirring (until 1 AM).... ok enough. Anyway- it was quiet. I was reflecting on how lucky I am to be a mommy to Max and Reese. Visions of their birthdays popped in my head...

I began thinking how special those days were. New baby. Nurses to take care of you. Food made for you and readily available 24/7. Maids. Pain pills. A nursery to send your baby to at night... ahhhhh
Then I woke up. To this:
That's right. Breakfast in bed. That is also right. A Diet Coke and a cherry doughnut. I giggle at this. See, all day, I scrolled on Facebook and saw moms posting pics of their breakfasts in bed. Eggs. Toast. Flowers. Trays. Not for this mom! Max was pretty spot on with this presentation, by the way. Anyone who knows me will agree. That may be why I quickly realized why my bod is still not back in "Prime Pre-baby" shape.
Visions of my kiddos' births were quickly replaced by these images:
Heading to the hospital to meet Mr. Max... 2 weeks early if you can believe it...
Yup. Me. 39 weeks 6 days pregnant with Reese. It was Friday. Beach Day. The day before Reese's scheduled arrival.
I think I better lay off the doughnuts.... My OB, Sunny Z was right. "You Big!"
What else did we do today?
Well... We went to buy flowers for the pots in front of our house. I was feeling very confident that my 100 dollar purchase would create a plethora of "Pinterest-worthy" pots. I'm no longer THAT confident...
Nor am I confident that they are even alive?
Sigh.
We ended our day with some cuddles and selfies...
(she already rolls her eyes at me- I'm doomed)
Some ice cream...
( because (obviously) those baby belly pics didn't scare me too much)
...and more fond memories of time spent together!
Happy Mother's Day!
Love,
Lis
